Kilnaleck is a charming small village which contains some good examples of prehistoric remains nearby.
At Carrickacroy, there is a cromlech, a portal tomb which dates from at least 2000 BC. This consisted originally of a burial chamber, entered by a door. One of the supporting jambs of the door is still standing, but most of the other stones have fallen.
Nearby Ballintemple also shows evidence of a late Iron Age rath or fort. Also nearby are the remains of Crosserlough church, which was originally built in the later middle ages. Crosserlough Catholic church, opened in 1888, was built to a design by William Hague Jnr. Corglass lake and Kill lake provide good bank coarse fishing.
