Butlersbridge is a picturesque village sited on the Annalee River and located just 5km north of Cavan town on the N3. Cavan Equestrian Centre and County Cavan Golf Club are nearby. The Radisson SAS Farnham Estate is 5km from Butlersbridge and the Slieve Russell Hotel and Championship Golf Club is 21km away.
Game Angling on the River Annalee is popular and a permit is required. There is good fishing at Deredis near Butlersbridge. The season lasts from March to September and permits can be obtained at Donohoe’s Bar, Ballyhaise t: +353 (0)49 433 8142
The local pubs are famous for good food and weekend entertainment. Local pub and restaurant, The Derragarra Inn, which has won many awards, is noted for its 'mock thatched' roof and its displays of various agricultural and domestic artefacts.
The Catholic Church in the village was designed in the early 1860s by the famous Cavan architect William Hague Jnr.
