Butlersbridge is a picturesque village sited on the Annalee River, just before it enters Lough Erne. Butlersbridge is located just 5km north of Cavan town on the N3. Nearby Annagh lake provides both fly-fishing and swimming facilities. Cavan Equestrian Centre is nearby as is County Cavan Golf Club. The Radisson SAS Farnham Estate is 5km from Butlersbridge and the Slieve Russell Hotel and Championship Golf Club is 21km away.
The local pubs are famous for good food and weekend entertainment. Local pub and restaurant, The Derragarra Inn, which has won many awards, is noted for its 'mock thatched' roof and its displays of various agricultural and domestic artefacts.
The Catholic Church in the village was designed in the early 1860s by the famous Cavan architect William Hague Jnr.
