“The Cathal Buí Festival will take place from Wednesday 27th June 2007 until Monday 2nd July 2007. A comprehensive Programme of events, suitable for all the family, will include; Children’s Art Workshops, Traditional and Classical Music, Storytelling, Film, and Poetry readings, Archaeological Field Trips, Nature Walks, a Car Treasure Hunt and various Art Workshops. An evening not to be missed is the play “The Rare Oul’ Times” by the award winning Nomadic theatre Company featuring Ken McElroy as Patrick Kavanagh and Oliver Moore as Brendan Behan. The action takes place in John Ryan's famous Bailey Pub in Duke Street, Dublin, where the audience are on-lookers as two of Irelands most outrageous and notorious drinkers and literary figures, Brendan Behan and Patrick Kavanagh, discuss their successes, failures and love lives to date in 1950's Dublin”. The Museum of the Master Saddler, Corlough, Co Cavan The only museum in the world dedicated to the ancient craft of the Saddler & Harness Maker. Documenting the various demands on the saddler from farming, sports, military and transport, the museum exhibits include: 1920's side saddle, shire harness, over 60 leather samples, harness decoration and buckles, driving collars, coaching coats, whips, saddle trees, muzzles, lamps and poultice boots.
