Cavan's beautiful and rugged countryside can also be enjoyed from the saddle. There are a number of excellent riding schools throughout the county offering a variety of activities from trekking to hourly lessons.

Set in 36 acres or private parkland Ross Equestrian Centre is the perfect base for riding holidays and weekend breaks. The new purpose-built cross country course with scenic trails along the Lough Sheelin promises riders of all levels enjoyable and exciting rides. Ross House offer lessons, breaking, schooling, livery and sale of quality horses and ponies. Approved by A.I.R.E.
REDHILLS EQUESTRIAN CENTRE
Redhills is a family run centre specialising in children's holidays and progressive teaching. Instruction is geared to all standards, both in riding and stable management. Students can train to become BHSAI instructors. About 20 cross country fences are designed for training horse and rider. A superb indoor arena (30m x 45m) is complemented by an outdoor arena measuring 23m x 61m. Accommodation is available at the centre for children. Adult holidays can be arranged through local bed and breakfast houses.

CAVAN EQUESTRIAN CENTRE
Cavan Equestrian Centre specialise in Horse & Pony International Performance Sales, 6-8 per annum, of Showjumpers, Hunters and Eventers. Weekly show jumping events, and national and international showjumping events of 3-6 days duration, approx. 6 per annum.
