Cavan offers the visitor an array of exhilarating outdoor activities. Enjoy a round of golf on one of many courses, including the renowned championship course at the Slieve Russell Golf & Country Club.

Another must-visit attraction is the Marble Arch Geopark which has recently been expanded into Co. Cavan.  Recognised by UNESCO, the Geopark offers stunning show caves and jeep ‘safaris’ as well as guided walks and activity days for all the family.  

Cyclists will enjoy the Kingfisher Cycle Trail while children will deliight in the many activities available throughout the county.

Cavan's beautiful countryside can also be enjoyed from horseback, with excellent riding schools at Ross House Equestrian Centre, Mountnugent or Redhills Equestrian Centre.

Reputed to have a lake for every day of the year, Cavan’s waterways have long been a draw for anglers and with no licence requirement there’s instant access to fishing for anglers of all ages and abilities. 

Back on shore, walking enthusiasts can explore a network of trails.  Take in the stunning lake-dotted landscape as you discover the Canal Walk in Ballyconnell, forest walks in Killeshandra and the Castle Lake in Bailieborough, or meander along one of four marked ways in the atmospheric Dun a Rí Forest Park, Kingscourt.
